Abstract:The resistance property of TiC bearing refractory to erosion of hot metal has been measured. It is indicated that the resistance to erosion is improved with increase of content of TiC in this composite refractory.The reason is that the existance of TiC makes the surface of carbon composite refractory in liquid iron easy to adhere a layer of hot metal which resists to solution of carbon and erosion of hot metal and improves the ability of resistance to hot metal peripheral flow.
