THE PROPERTIES OF PLATINUM-COBALT MAGNETS PRODUCED BY POWDER METALLURGY |
| |
Abstract: | AbstractImproved and more consistent magnetic properties can be obtained from platinum-cobalt alloys produced by powder-metallurgy techniques. The importance of heat-treatment is emphasized, and for optimum permanent-magnet properties it is shown that the equiatomic stoichiometric alloy should be employed. Magnetic measurements demonstrate that energy products < 10 × 106 gauss-Oe, and coercive forces up to 4900 Oe can be achieved. |
