Realization of Equivalent Translation from the Cultural Function Perspective

In the contemporary translation theories,equivalence in translation is a controversial key issue that embodies the nature and criteria of translation.With the cultural turn in translation study,it is a tendency as well as a must that the disputable "equivalence" issue should be addressed from the cultural function aspect.Equivalence in translation is the equivalence realization of the cultural function in two languages.The general characteristics among the cultures give rise to the possibility of equivalent translation,while the differences among them make its realization relatively difficult.
