| Abstract: | Wang Shu, of Amateur Architecture, deploys traditional materials and forma~ strategies, projecting an optimistic sustainability with an emphasis on pedestrian-scale urbanism and invocation of history through the use of reclaimed material and reinterpretations of vernacular forms. The work of the firm, Amateur Architecture, points toward the future without abandoning the past, reclaiming China＇s architectural heritage and proposing new, regionally-grounded models for architecture and urbanism in today＇s China. |
