| Abstract: | This paper systematically analyzes the conception, service types, core components and hierarchical structure of metro optical network, gives the evolution route of metro optical network for incumbent telecommunication carriers. At the same time, considering the NGN network structure, the paper points out that the optical packet switched network is the development trend of future metro optical network. |
