| Abstract: | The first phase of the SCARABEE programme has already been done with fresh fuel on single and seven pin bundles. We are describing the SCARABEE facility which includes the reactor, the sodium loop, the test section, the equipment for post mortem examination, the instrumentation and the recording systems.The methods used to determine the experimental parameters such as the power generated in the pins or the heat losses are presented.The different types and number of experiments are also described. |
