Abstract:
Using wavelet technology is a new trend of investigating the representations and smoothing of curves and surfaces. This paper introduces the basic concept of hierarchical representations of curves, describes the definition and calculation of the endpoint_interpolating cubic B_spline wavelets, discusses the algorithm of curve/surface wavelet decomposition, and, finally, points out the feasibility of using wavelets to smooth curves and surfaces.
