Visual interactive simulation using a microcomputer

The paper describes an approach to discrete event simulation in which the status of a model is dynamically displayed on a graphics screen. The end user may watch and interact with the model in order to try alternative strategies. The paper reports that the visual interactive technique, if used on a time sharing computer suffers due to variable response times and that the implementation using a microcomputer gives a feasible alternative.
