| Abstract: | Small interfering RNAs (siRNAs) generated from the spacer region of hairpin RNAs were not detected in the RNA interference (RNAi) plants targeting the fatty acid desaturase gene. The expression of the desaturase gene was stably suppressed even when siRNAs targeting the spacer sequences were introduced into this plant. |
