Research on the Integration of Design and Construction for PrefabricatedBuildings Under General Contracting Mode

The design and construction of prefabricated buildings need to be closely integrated with each other. Although thegeneral contracting model can facilitate the integration of design and construction， there are a lot of difficulties in practice. Viaanalyzing the advantages and necessity of using the general contracting mode in prefabricated buildings， case data and expertinterviews are investigated. Based on the current status of design and construction integration， this paper sorts out the barriers andreasons for the integrating design and construction in prefabricated building under the general contracting mode. Considering thecharacteristics of prefabricated buildings， the design and construction integration mechanism in prefabricated buildings under thegeneral contracting mode is finally designed， including design-led life-cycle design， constructability analysis and early engagementof the construction team， cross-optimization of construction drawing design and construction organization design， and organizationalinterface coordination. These four aspects are expected to provide a reference for the design and construction integration forprefabricated buildings.
