Abstract: | The high efficient generation of the second harmonic of ruby laser in rubidium dihydrogen arsenate (RDA) is reported. A peak harmonic power of 52 MW was obtained with a fundamental power of 110 MW. In addition, the temperature variation of the birefringence has been measured to bed(n_{2}^{e} - n_{1}^{o})/dT = (9.3 pm 0.4) times 10^{-6}degC^{-1}. |
