Lyocell Blends-Additional Benefits for the Textile Industry

Lyocell fibers are characterised by a fiber tenacity which was, until now, not attainable in cellulosic fibers. The textile properties of Lyocell are comparable with those of high quality, long staple cotton and are even superior to this in some cases. From this it is clear that this generation of fibers will be used universally in the textile industry in the future whereby the obstacles faced at present in the textile processing phases will be eliminated. This article is presented a few examples where Lyocell fibers were processed in intimate or system blends with viscose, modal or cotton, thereby producing textiles with exceptional properties.
