Abstract:In recent years silica fume has been acknowledged as one of the most effective pozzolans ever added to concrete. In this paper the influence of silica fume content, water-cement ratio and superplasticizer content of concrete with cast stone on its compressive strength and abrasion resistance is studied. The mechanism of silica fume in improving strengths and durability of the concrete is analyzed by XRD, EDZA and interface flexural strength test and the optimal silica fume content is about 15% of cement weight.
