Abstract:Using Ti,Al,C,TiC powders as raw materials,the Ti3AlC2 cemmics material was prepared by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis doping with different content of Si and adjusting content of Al,and studied using X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy.The results indicate that high purity of Ti3AlC2 was fabricated with n(Ti):n(Al):n(C):n(TiC):n(Si)=2:1.2:1:0.9:0.1 in molar ratio,which was pressed under a pressure of 50 MPa and synthesized in air atmosphere.The additive Si was uniformly distributed in the matrix.The synthetic product is in sheet shape and little grain structure,the average size of the plate sheet is about 10 μm.The proper addition of Si and the appropriate adjustment of Al are favorable to forming Ti3AlC2.Ti3AlC2 ceramics material with composition of n(Ti):n(Al):n(C): n(TiC):n(Si)=2:1.2:1:0.9:0.1,and a high purity of 97.75% has got.
