为了蛎限度地利是生载测雨雷达,必须实现一些主要条件:高的空间分辨率、宽阔的覆盖面积,大的动态降雨测量范围以及精确的点测量。

Abstract:
Among the various techniques for rainfall measurement, satellite remote sensing is recognized as the most effective and probably the only way to measure global rainfall. In particular,the spaceborne radar which can vertically profile the rain and its sensitivity is not degraded by high emissivities from the land background. In order to maximize the benefits of a spaceborne rain radar.some main requirements should be satisfied,i. e. high spatial resolution, wide coverage, large dynamic range for rain rate measurements and accurate point rainfall rate measurements. But the return power will be attenuated by the rain for the radar which satisfies the conditions above, so the algorithms have to be studied in order to correct the attenuation effect. This paper make a case study of the correction for attenuation effect using the airborne radar data obtained during the TOGA/COARE experiment since the radar operated at a similar frequency as the spaceborne radar.
