Abstract:With the emergence of the giant magneto-impedan ce (GMI) effect, the miniaturization, high sensitivity, quick response,and lower power consumption of the magnetic sensor in the field of weak magnetic measurement become possible. The magnetic sensor based on GMI effect has broad application prospects, and it becomes one of the hot points on magnetic sensor research in recent years. On the point of material, the research and development of magnetic sensors based on GMI are introduced in this paper,which focuses on the sensitive material,structure,processing circuit and performance of these GMI sensors are proposed specially. Finally, the existing problems and developing trend of GMI sensors in future are indicated,which provide a useful reference for the realization of giant magneto-impedance sensor.
