Abstract: | For award-winning New York practice Caples Jefferson Architects, the commission to design an interpretive centre for the Weeksville Society in Brooklyn offered a rare opportunity to explore African architectural form and to connect to the totality of the black experience in the borough. As guest-editor Sara Caples explains, it also required taking on board the input of a third party in the mix, representing the city's interests. Copyright © 2005 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. |
