| Abstract: | As a very active member of English vocabulary,English euphemism is actually the product of social interactions among people.It reflects social customs,aesthetic conceptions and cultural level etc.in English-speaking countries.In practice,people use it for different purposes: for avoiding a taboo; for politeness and elegance;for deceiving others and for sounding more pleasant.By these functions,people can achieve successful communications . |
