Discussion of Corrosion Resulted from Acetic Acid and Selection of Structural Material

Acetic acid is one of important chemical products.But,the corrosion due to acetic acid will seriously affect the safe and stable operation of equipment.In material selection for acetic acid production,the oxidization and reduction,especially the combined effects of oxidant and halogen ion,should be taken into account.In this article,the application of materials,such as stainless steel,titanium, nickel alloys and copper,were evaluated.
