An extension of the static shakedown theorem to inelastic cracked structures

Here we have investigated under which conditions elastic-perfectly plastic, cracked bodies subjected to variable loads shake down. For this purpose, an extension of the static shakedown theorem (Melan’s theorem) is presented by using a crack analysis developed by Nguyen Quoc Son in the framework of the concept of generalized standard materials.
