Abstract:Two reheating furnaces in Anshan Forging Product Works previously used coke as fuel, equipped with fans having more than needed capacity, did not have exhaust chimney and sent out smoke all around with energy consumption per ton steel up to 200 kg coke . Then, one of them was changed to 12. 90m2 coal fired reheating furnace, in which the structure and combustion chamber are rationally transformed , using suitable capacity combustion-supporting fan, increasing coal feeder, slag removal unit and exhaust chimney. More than one year production result shows that energy consumption per ton steel can be reduced to 130. 2kg bituminous coal.
