Abstract:It was shown by the Bekunov method for evaluating chemical ripening restrainers, that adenine and DNA are restrainers whereas nucleotides are not. The addition of DNA-se which, as is known, hydrolyses DNA to oligonucleotides, does not modify the photographic results obtained with DNA alone. On the other hand S'S'-adeninyl-adenosine, in contrast with what was expected, has no restraining properties. A tentative explanation is given.
