Synthesis,structure, and physicochemical properties of bivalent element hexanitratothorates

Compounds of the composition M^IITh(NO₃)₆·8H₂O (M^II = Mg, Mn, Co, Ni, Zn) were prepared by precipitation from solution. The structure and thermal decomposition of these compounds were examined by X-ray diffraction and thermal analysis. The previously unknown standard enthalpies of formation of the compounds at 298.15 K were determined by reaction calorimetry.
