| Abstract: | A generalized model to describe accurately the optical properties of a TNLCD is presented. The optical properties of molecules near the edge of the LCD which are unable to twist and tilt under the application of an external electric field are studied. The agreement between the theoretical and the experimental transmittances is excellent. |
