The initial-sintering kinetics of compacts of uniform spheres of CoO were investigated at various temperatures and O2 partial pressures. Volume-diffusion kinetics were exhibited initially, followed by retardation of sintering and deviation from the sintering model as a result of faceting of the spheres. The calculated volume diffusivities lie between those measured for Co and O in CoO. |
