无线传感器网络的协同适应休眠介质访问控制协议

摘    要:无线传感器网络通常部署在不可到达或危险区域,其能量十分有限。因此,无线传感器网络以节约能量和自我配置为主要目标。本文介绍一种为无线传感网络设计的介质访问控制协议S-MAC,它采用公用休眠时间表、通信量自适应唤醒、串听避免、消息传输等几种新技术来减少能耗并支持自我配置,使得在多跳网络中的低占空比操作成为可能。测量结果表明,S-MAC能节约大量能量。

Abstract:Wireless sensor networks are usually deployed throughout inaccessible or hazardous regions with limited energy resources. Therefore, energy conservation and self-configuration are primary goals for wireless sensor networks. In this paper, a medium access control protocol--S-MAC designed for wireless sensor networks are introduced, it uses a few novel techniques including common sleep schedules, traffic-adaptive wake-up and avoid overhearing to reduce energy consumption and support self-configuration. It enables low-duty-cycle operation in a multihop network. Measurement results show that S-MAC obtains significant energy savings.
