Analysis on sulfolane degradation during aromatic extraction and countermeasures

The degradation of solvent sulfolane is the key problem puzzling Aromatic Extraction Plant production for many years.By analyzing the property and degradation factors of sulfolane,this paper proposed the countermeasures such as controlling the system temperature,preventing oxygen and chlorine ions from entering into the system,properly using the additives and making filtration regeneration to the regeneration column,which solved the problem of sulfolane degradation.
