Abstract: | Abnormal rhythmisations in the EEG are described in hepatoportal encephalopathy as an expression of a disturbance of more profound cerebral structures. The EEG gives an actual information about the state of the cerebral functions of all stages of a hepato-cerebral decompensation and allows a reliable prognostic estimation during the observation of the course. Practically significant are also bioelectric findings of a disturbance of the cerebral function with clinically symptom-poor course in compensated liver cirrhosis or obstructive icterus. |
