Abstract:
This paper considers the finite amplitude wave propagation which results when a compound cylinder consisting of two concentric, isotropic compressible cylinders is subjected to a sudden spatially uniform application of pressure at the inner cylinder's surface. The two cylinders each have different constitutive equations and are bonded together at the interfacial radius. Plane strain deformation is assumed and results are presented here for the Gaussian strain-energy function.
