Relationship and application on translation theory and practice of scientific English

English and Chinese belong to different language families, there often exist great disparities between Chinese and western social cultures, scientific workers may encounter many difficulties during the translation in scientific research and academic exchange. This paper deeply discusses and describes the above subject. It states the relationship and significance between English translation theory and practice, analyzes the characteristics of technical English style and syntax, and introduces the skills for the understanding of source language and the expression of target language. The paper also holds the view that translation theory comes from practice, and translation theory is again employed to direct translation practice.
