Abstract:Applications of fractal geometry to the study of mechanical properties of metallic materials are described in this paper. Emphasis is laid on the fractal analysis of fracture surfaces of mechanical testing specimens. Main points of current research trends relating to the mechanical properties of metallic materials are also indicated.
