| Abstract: | The main processes for producing chlorine dioxide in the 20th century are reviewed. The applications of chlorine dioxide, for example, as a bleaching agent in pulp and paper production, a disinfectant and deodorant in water treatment/purification and etc. are discussed in detail. The perspective of its production and application in our mainland in the 21st century is analyzed. It is suggested that great efforts should be made to increase the production and application of chlorine dioxide. |
