Abstract: | A Schiff-based fluorescence probe benzene-1,2-dicarbaldehyde bis-benzoyl hydrazide (L) was designed and synthesized. Its sensing behavior toward metal ions has been investigated by absorption and fluorescence spectroscopy. Indicator L showed high selectivity to Zn2+ in various solvents, whereas other metal ions failed to induce response. Especially Cd2+, which has similar chemical properties with Zn2+, can be distinguished from Zn2+ obviously. |
