Authors:Fears, Barbara A.   Gerkovich, Mary M.   O'Connell, Kathleen A.   Cook, Mary R.
Abstract:
Salivary samples from 3 placement sites under stimulated and unstimulated flow-rate conditions were collected from 18 smokers and 18 nonsmokers on each of 3 days. Salivary thiocyanate levels were significantly higher in smokers than in nonsmokers, in parotid site collections than either sublingual or mixed collections, and in unstimulated collections.
