Stability evaluation of dumping slope at right abutment of Kezier reservoir and its rehabilitation

By analysis on the prototype observation data,the stability problems of seepage and deformation at the right abutment of Kezil reservoir dam were introduced during impoundment,earthquakes and abrupt change of reservoir levels.According to the geological conditions,deformation development degree and process,calculation results were employed to evaluate the overall stability of dumping slope at the right abutment,and conclusion was gotten that the overall stability was satisfactory.However,the stability of dumping slope near the W150 cut-off wall and above the dam crest is in poor condition,and potential shear sliding may occur at the slope toe of the dam crest.Thus,rehabilitation schemes and measures for the dumping slope were comprehensively studied.The idea that safety monitoring should be strengthened after its rehabilitation to provide reliable basis for decision-making and analysis was advanced.
