Information Theory Approach to Statistical Decision Problems

The use of information theory concepts in statistical decision problems is examined. It is shown that the average risk of decision-making is related to the amount of information contained in observations. This is used as a basis for estimating the minimum average risk of decision-making. A number of examples are considered
