Abstract: | A three‐effect heat pipe (heat pipe heating, heat pipe cooling and heat pipe heat recovery) adsorption refrigeration system using compound adsorbent (calcium chloride and activated carbon) was designed. The dynamic characteristics of mass and heat pipe heat recovery were studied. The results show that mass recovery and heat pipe heat recovery can improve (specific cooling power) SCP and (coefficient of performance) COP greatly. The averaged SCP of the cycle with mass recovery and the cycle without mass recovery is 502.9 W/kg and 436.7 W/kg at about 30 °C of cooling water temperature and ?15 °C of evaporating temperature. The corresponding COP is 0.27 and 0.24 respectively. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. |
