| Abstract: | The addition of a small amount of tetrachloromethane to the reactant stream in the conversion of methane by nitrous oxide increases the yield of partial oxidation product formaldehyde over silica-supported 12-molybdophosphoric acid (H3PMo12O40), but selectively produces monochloromethane over silica-supported 12-tungstophosphoric acid (H3PW12040). |
