Revival of Huguang Guild Hall,Chongqing

Huguang Guild Hall is an important building complex at the center of the City Chongqing with high historical and cultural value.This article introduces the revitalization of the complex and its neighborhood and the restoration of the old buildings.This restoration design integrates conservation of historic buildings with market economy at the same time maximizing its social value. It emphasizes the scientific views of heritage conservation and identifiability in restoration works. Making use of modern technology, this project is seeking for methods that are both suitable for restoring traditional wood structure and aesthetics of regional characteristics.
