| Abstract: | 1 Beamhouse 1.1 Soaking and liming 1.1.1 Soaking and liming auxiliaries The work performed in the beamhouse has a decisive effect on the quality of the finished leather. The tasks here are to remove the hair and to prepare the skin for tanning. At BASF, we have developed a range of auxiliaries for use in soaking and liming processes. They help to speed up these processes, and they produce very clean, smooth pelts with an open fiber structure, which respond very well to further processing. |
