| Abstract: | Total bacterial genomic DNA was extracted from the immobilized pellets in partial nitrification and nitrification aerobic fluidized bed reactors,respectively.The microbial community structures were studied by polymerase chain reaction-denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis（PCR-DGGE）.The sequences were used for homology analysis and phylogenetic trees construction.The results indicate that the immobilized pellets reactor could achieve stabilization after a short period of acclimation and no significant distinction was observed between the dominant bacteria under different operation conditions or even after a long time of placement.Nitrosomonas sp.is the most predominant ammonium oxidizing bacteria（AOB） in the system with a capability against the shock loading and Nitrobacter sp.constituted the most part of nitrite oxidizing bacteria（NOB） in the system.Nitrobacter sp.219 and Nitrobacter sp.263,which play a key role in the nitrification system,are absent in the partial nitrification system. |
