Abstract:The development of diode-pumped all solid state laser (DPSSL) and its applications are reviewed. Along with the development and flourish of semiconductor lasers, DPSSLs have made remarkable headway in output power, beam quality, new wavelength and so on, and they are in widespread use today. The most prevalent use of the DPSSL is probably in scientific research, medicine and display. DPSSL is also used in many other applications including optical communications, laser measurement, national military defense and laser alignment.
