| Abstract: | A new Bronsted acidic ionic liquid,1-(3-sulfopropyl) hexamethyleneimine toluene-4-sulfonate (HMIPS]OTs),was synthesized and its chemical structure,thermal stability and acidity were studied by ~1H NMR,FT-IR,TG and DTG.Its catalytic activities for the esterification of acetic acid with cyclohexanol and methacrylic acid with methanol were examined and compared with 1-methyl-3- (3-sulfopropyl)imidazolium hydrogen sulfate(MIMPS]HSO_4).The results showed thatHMIPS] OTs exhibits excellent catalytic activity;under the optimum conditions,the yield of cyclohexyl acetate reached 95.1%;the yield of methyl methacrylate reached 96.1%.In addition,the catalyst was reused for at least 10 times without a significant decrease in activity. |
