On analysis of calculating foundation settlement based on layer-wise summation method

The paper analyzes the theoretical differences between the national regulation method and the flexible theory in calculating the foundation settlement,and the fundamental reasons for the errors in measuring settlement,indicates the influence of the foundation width,foundation depth and poisson ratio,and points out the program calculation methods and modification methods,so as to direct the project design.
