Abstract:
Based on the electric circular saturation zone near an ideal crack tip, the approximate complete solution for electric and stress field in a cracked electrostrictive plate under general loading at infinity is carried out. The SIFs are then obtained. We find that the stress distributions in front of the crack tip can be divided into four different regions. The fracture behavior is closely related to these distributions.
