| 摘 要： | 提出了分布式可扩展的VOD系统结构，扩展性的研究能够提供更多的并发流服务。从系统结构及工作流程、基于CORBA的通讯、负载均衡及存储技术等方面论述了系统的扩展性。测试结果表明，该系统可以适应不同规模的VOD应用。

| Abstract: | It's easy to build a centralized VOD server in a LAN, which is easy to manage but is difficult to extend. But in the WAN, VOD is not yet widely implemented. The biggest obstacle is the lack of server bandwidth that can handle the large amounts of video data. A distributed VOD server is brought forward that is easy to extend so as to serve more concurrent customers and provide more programs, and the expansibility in these aspects is discussed: the architecture, communication based on CORBA, load balance and storage tech- nology. Experiments show that the VOD server is suitable for use both in LAN and WAN. |
