Abstract: | In the Semiconductor 2003 meeting in Edinburgh in June, the prime message for the compound sector from both Bookham’s Andy Carter and Intense Photonics’ John Marsh was ‘integration.’ From Prof Gabriel Aeppli of University College London, the nano technology message was that μ-scale electronics is already a working science; revolutionised by scan probe microscopy and e-beam litho, it cannot be distinguished from modern materials science; but the trick will be in ‘learning to control it.’ |
