This article introduces a vehicles classification system which is a plane measuring system with parallel infrared rays in equal distance from one another and a classification subsystem. The results indicate that, after using the related testing technique, the infrared subsystem can effciently suppress not only the outside interference and noise, but also that from adjacent infrared signals. The classification subsystem is an adaptive pattern recognition system.
