Abstract: | Unperturbed dimensions have been computed for poly(trans-N-methylglycine), poly(cis-N-methylglycine) and poly(cis/trans-N-methylglycine) by a Monte Carlo simulation technique using potential energy calculations. Computed characteristic ratios for the above polypeptides vary within a narrow range supporting the view that both cis and trans units could be present in the polymer in different proportions under different solvent conditions. |
