Abstract: | ![]() Discusses contributions of Phillip L. Ackerman, Martha J. Farah, Daniel T. Gilbert, and Martin F. Sarter, the 1992 recipients of the Distinguished Scientific Awards for an Early Career Contribution to Psychology awarded by the American Psychological Association. Ackerman is awarded for research on individual differences. Farah is recognized for her empirical and theoretical analysis of visual cognition. Gilbert is recognized for research on interpersonal inference. Sarter is awarded for research on the neuronal mechanisms underlying attention, learning, and memory.
